HTTP Not working

Okay, so I've had this slow down problem for a while (where FTP and POP3 access is slow to authenticate).  In attempting to resolve the issue I think I may have inadvertently killed my HTTP service in some strange way.

Users outside my network can get to Webmail, FTP and POP3 and I'm pretty sure everything else (although I just tried telnet and that didn't seem to work but that could be another issue altogether).  Now, my Router is routing port 80 as well as several other ports.  Everything seems fine with the router.  The problem is that the stuff I was doing with the server was beyond my level of comprehension so I'm not sure if I've messed something up.

The things I had done were tried out Charles' fix for the slowdown issue. as well as another fix I can't find right now but which related to reconfiguring a resolv.conf file.

If anyone can help me sort this out I'd be gratefull.  Thanks.
