Hi,
I know there there are similar questions to this on the forum, but I have been reading most of them but none of them helped me to solve my question.
here is my question:
I have setup a SME Server 7.3 as a PDC. all my clients are Windows XP professional SP2. I have joined them to the domain with no problem. but i want each user to be forced to change his/her password on on their first time logon from their XP machines? can any body help me on that?
there is such an option in Windows Server 2003. can any one help me to have the same setup on SME Server too.
Thanks in advance for the help.

hi, welcome here

actually there's no way to do such a thing in SME, but searching a bit with google I've found this

  edit: NOT TESTED :-)

be carefull with pdbedit, because you can break your server..

maybe we could integrate such a function in smeserver-password contrib..

HTH

p.s. not sure if this is the right place, I will ask moderators to move this topic if necessary

smeserver-password contrib..

Thank You

it's a contrib that give you the possibility to:
- choose password strength (admin, users, ibay)
- set password ageing

actually it doesn't support what you are asking for
