« on: September 10, 2010, 05:33:04 AM »
hope you guys can help

i am trying to " set a default web page " for all my users. i am using sme 7.51 as proxy server for 30 users

i need to make sure that the first web page that the users see is the company portal web page even if they change their default web page setting in their browser options

how do i go about doing this?

This is not really a SME Server related issue and I have not tried that, but:

1. That either depends on the browser they are using
2. You will have to resort to some sort of group policy, to make sure the default webpage of the users browser will always be the page you desire. Perhaps a serach for google on poledit or gpo or windows policies might help you.

Do you want all the new users, even with their own laptops to be forced to visit certain web page at the connect?
This feature called captive portal. Some firewalls support it, SME by default is not.
Any other initial start page enforcement is done by the configuring desktops as suggested by cactus earlier.
