Troubles with joomla installation
« on: November 16, 2010, 04:23:42 AM »
Hi there, I just got joomla on my SME following the instructions step by step. I wanted to run joomla directly from the / and the main domain www.mydomain.com. At the end joomla starts perfect, but I lost access to www.mydomain.com/myadmin (phpmyadmin), the adminmistration panel (servername/server-manager) and any other contrib running under servername/contrib.
How can I get back the admin panel, mysql, etc and also keep joomla running from the root and main domain????

Thanks

I assume the contrib was installed to /opt/...
You do not tell us what else you did to get the main domain pointing at the /opt/joomla install location.
Whatever else you did, is most likely the source of your problem.

It will probably be simpler to move the /opt install to an ibay, modify the joomla config settings appropriately, and then point your main domain to the ibay using the server manager Domains panel.
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.
