3.1.0.62 - 3.1.0.86 killed it !
« on: December 30, 2010, 01:52:30 PM »
Hi,
I just upgraded my semi running 3.1.0.62  to 3.1.0.86 ..
First observation was that the x.x.x.x/sail page could not find the left hand panel, and the right hand side showed PBX running but version was just 3.1
I figured I must have messed up and should have upgraded the smesail-env,  So I yum localinstalled that.
after the signal-event postupgrade and reboot..
The sail page is now '404 Not found'
asterisk itself is running but a 'sip show peers' shows I don't have any !

and here I was hoping that the upgrade was going to fix some issues I was seeing ;-)

yum remove sail, and re install has not helped.

appreciate your wisdom.

Hi Gordon

This isn't an issue we've seen.  Dumb question, but did you restart your browser and was it by any chance Firefox?
I've seen odd behaviours to do with firefox cacheing during upgrades, similar to the ones you describe.  There were browser changes between 62 and 86 because the jquery code was added in -76 but it shouldn't do what you describe unless the browser wasn't restarted.

If it still fails, make a copy  of the db (/opt/sark/db/sark.db) and then remove sail completely with 'rpm -e sail'.  Install the new release.  The new release shouldn't overwrite your existing db but you will have a copy just in case.

Kind Regards
S

Thanks S.
I'm guessing it may well have been firefox initially as you describe..
but with my attempts to resolve I think I gradually made it worse..

I ended up removing Sail, asterisk and all associated packages,  and started again..
After complete re-install .. SAIL lept into life and found the old database..
So all sorted..  although as I just posted in another topic,  I do have issues getting the SPA3102 Trunk working.

cheers
