saving email to a NAS
« on: February 01, 2011, 02:40:54 AM »
I have a customer that is required to save all email , incoming and outgoing, for five years. What i was wanting to do, if possible, is to save these emails to an 8 Terabyte NAS that they already have. Is there a way to do this? I am currently using SME v7.5.1 for their email.

Why would you not just keep the email on the server?

There is but it involves a bit of hacking around.

I suggest you use http://wiki.contribs.org/MailArchiva with volumes created on NAS.
Wonderful solution, web interface to search!

Thanks for the tip I will take a look at the program.

Since the server is used only for email it has small (40gb) hard drives. I know they receive a lot of email each month (between 5 to 10gb). Instead of rebuilding the server I thought it would be easier to use the NAS (24TB).
