SAMBA/IBAY issue
« on: April 08, 2011, 09:53:47 PM »
I am running an SME 8 beta 6 server as a PDC.  No contribs.  Everything is working properly.

But I ran into an issue today that I cannot figure out.   All my workstations run XP pro.  But I have one user on a laptop that has XP home.  On the laptop, I set the workgroup ID to match the domain name and the user name & password match the SME user login name & password.  And everything works except that this user has full access to ALL ibays.   The user only belongs to one group and that group has rights to one ibay.

Has anyone else encountered this?  Any ideas?

Thanks!

My guess this has to do with the OS. XP Home Edition is used for use at home (stand-alone) and not geared to working in networks IIRC, see also: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457127.aspx

Thank you.  I will post in bugtracker.

I hope it is not the XP home OS.  That's a pretty serious security issue.
