Topic: Please help! Unable to join windows xp pro x64 to domain.

I have just installed SME server 8 beta6 as a replacement for my sbs 2003, and I am very pleased. I am able to join windows xp pro x32, and windows 7 to the domain easily.

However, when I try to set up the  windows xp pro x64 machine as a member of the domain, I get the message that "The following error occurred attempting to join domain "xxxxxxx". The parameter is incorrect. I have applied the patch: winxplogon.reg but it doesn't work for me. I am using the windows xp pro x64 as the file server for my windows applications. Please help.

welcome here

take a look into the event viewer on your xp64 bit client then goto www.eventid.net.. without any info the sentence "The parameter is incorrect" is useless

But sadly so typical of error messages from Windows... Of course, there is usually the helpful advise to go ask your network administrator
