Topic: browsing server only mode

hi, i have 2 sme 7.51 server running 1 is the gateway and the other is in server-only and i like to browse the server-only sme by its server-name not ip address any idea?

local ip address for server-only sme
192.168.1.4

to browse i have to http:192.168.1.4 but i wanted to browse it http://servername/ instead please help.

On the SME gateway server in the server manager Hostnames & Addresses panel, you need to add a Hostname for server-only servername pointing at IP of  192.168.1.4

Then configure your workstations to use the gateway server for DNS.

Then http://servername/ should resolve correctly from any workstation on your LAN.

thanks, i was not able to browse my 2nd sme. browser wont find it it will bring me to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/newserver

also adding it to my Hostnames & Addresses panel newserver with 192.168.1.4 ip will just let me browse

newserver.mydomain.com but i can not browse my other ibays.
