I was used to running the older version of Sail, but for some reason the TDM card does not show up or allow me to add  either as extension or route? Now this was from memory as I have not played around with this in ages.

This is what shows up under PCI, so I assume Sail see's it

pci:0000:02:02.0     wctdm+       e159:0001 Wildcard TDM400P REV I

dmesg |grep -i tdm
Found a Wildcard TDM: Wildcard TDM400P REV I (2 modules

And the driver appears to be there :-

So what am I missing here ?

Which release of sail is this please? and what is the iso name/number you downloaded?

The sequence is to install the TDM card, go to the pci panel and issue a commit then reboot the system.

After this trunks will show up as DAHDIGroupn where n is a value (usually zero (0)), and extensions will show up as TDM/nnn where nnn is the extension number.

If it isn't doing that then there may be something wrong with the Asterisk install.  SARK uses a digium supplied routine called dahdi_genconf to sniff the cards and set up the loader so you might want to check that it is there and working; you can run it manually from the linux console to test it.

Thanks for the information, and I had followed that procedure on previous versions, hence asking if I had missed something. The version of the ISO is SME8A18V31128

Although linux seems to be aware of the card, Asterisk / Sark does not. As suggested I ran the dahdi_genconf and it seemed happy enough, saying that it had created :-
Generating /etc/dahdi/system.conf
Generating /etc/asterisk/dahdi-channels.conf

No error message or anything else to suggest there was a problem. Still no trunks with that naming?

No this is on actual hardware. Would be interested to know why that question? as I was considering at some stage trying Vmware ESX (or whatever they call it now) as it allows direct connection to installed cards.

We have been unable to detect the card on a Sail/Centos VM in VMware Server when it is detected and running in the host OS.

Does uname -ar reflect the same kernel?

Also, how old is the mainboard CPU? Are you running a PAE kernel?
