Topic: SME Server only bihind ADSL router

Hi,
I got small issue with my homeoffice network settup.

My configuration is

                 Static IP 120.146.140.62
        Thomson Gataway ADSL Wireless Router TG782T
                Gataway IP 10.0.0.138  DHCP Enabled
                 |                                |
           Wireless                     Ethernet
                 |                                 |                                                         |
     Few PC, Ipad, Iphones     SME IP 10.0.0.140 Server Only                Printer

domain: meritage.com.au

When I try to call www.meritage.com.au from browse of local client pc Iḿ presented with Thomson Gataway page instead of primary ebay.
the domain resolving properly from outside of the network
http://myservername.meritage.com.au resolving properly in local network
I´ve got access to management of DNS records
I would like to ask if anybody could give me some hint how to resolve this issue.

simply setup your SME as dns server for your client pc.. also, if possible, setup SME as dhcp server and your router as dhcp relay

I'm not sure if you understood Stefano info, so I'll put it another way:
your DHCP server is deliverying information about your network... and that's is part of problem.
When a PC receives an IP from your DHCP server (modem) it must be receiving the DNS server: a external one.
you can verify this by use ping. In a PC type "ping www.meritage.com.au" and you'll see the external address show up!
You should configure the DHCP server on your modem to delivery as DNS server ans WINS server the IP address of your SME server: 10.0.0.140.
This way when a PC, IPAD or WiFi device try to solve www.meritage.com.au the DNS server will inform the internal IP address of your server: 10.0.0.140.
When the above ping show 10.0.0.140 , you'll have no more problem.

some modems/routers can act as dhcp relays, i.e. simply redirect clients to another dhcp server..

Hi,
I´ve done as Stefano suggested, redirected client pc DNS to point to SME server, disabled modem DHCP server and enabled SME DHCP server thats all.
Looks like problem is SOLVED.
By the way we do not need to redirect DNS. I´ve rebooted another pc with wireless connection and IP address with DNS pointing to SME was acquired automatically on startup.
Iḿ running SME 8b6 on HP ProLiant Microserver.

I forgot to mention that I setup SME Domain DNS servers to resolve locally.
