Fresh Install of SAIL/SME using Asterisk 1.8
« on: October 23, 2011, 06:24:04 AM »
Hi All

Have download the iso containing asterisk 1.8 and install on a clean system.  I have transfered the setting regarding trunks and I only have 1 that worked first go without issue.

one of the trunks that did not work is as follows

PEER TAB
Code: [Select]
type=peer
host=sip00.mynetfone.com.au
qualify=3000
canreinvite=no
username=USERID
fromuser=USERID
secret=PASSWORD
insecure=port,invite
disallow=all
allow=g729
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw
allow=gsm

USER TAB

Blank

Can anyone help me sort out what has gone wrong

I am new to SAIL SME Server v8b6 and have been using SME for many years.
I have already done some research and only ask questions if I still can't work it out.

Hi MogLJ

Are both lines with the same VSP?

With our VSP we had to add in the peer

fromdomain=sip00.mynetfone.com.au

and in the user

type=user
context=mainmenu

I don't know what I have done wrong but now I have none of the trunks working.

I the original config was on a asterisk 1.4 system with SAIL. I now have a asterisk 1.8 system.

Maybe you could show me and example of what I should have.

BTW ... I have 4 mynetfone trunk lines

Hi MogLJ

Do you want me to try your trunk connection from here? We have had no problems in V3 with trunks.

How does mynetfone.com.au do the registration? Does it need username:password@sip00.mynetphone.com.au/username for registration string?

Did you define the trunk with Registration string set to yes?

We are finding Asterisk18 with Sail V3 very good just a little wizardry in the generator giving grief but that can be fixed. All seems to be a lot quicker.
