windows 7 Domain Login Problem
« on: November 14, 2011, 03:27:04 PM »
Hi,

I am new to sme server., i had downloaded and installed sme server. during installation i went on with 192.168.0.212 as server IP. I wanted to have few updates installed. My internet gateway was in 192.168.1.x series. so i changed to 1.212 and downloaded few updates.

meanwhile after installation i had downloaded the registry patch for windows 7 from server resources and patched the system.

when the domain & pcs are in 1.x family i am able to join the domain.

when i change it to 0.x family and try joining domain, error comes in .
if i could change it to 1.x then it is accepting the member.

where could be the problem, please help me

Is your internet router acting as the DHCP server? or is the SME box the DHCP server?

it is the internet router act as dhcp server. now the internet router, sme box, the clients all are in the same range. yesterday i tried to change the client ip from 0.x series to 1.x series, now even on 1.x it is not getting connected.
the sme box IP is 192.168.0.212, the gate way is 192.168.0.96, the dns is 192.168.0.96.
the internet router ip is 192.168.0.96.
the client ip is 192.168.0.213, gate way is 192.168.0.96, the dns is 192.168.0.96.
i had formatted the client PC and applied Patch from https://192.168.0.212(sme-server)/server-resources/.
Still i could n't be able to join on domain.

regards
rajkumar

no, you should let it act as dhcp server, so you should disable dhcp in your router
