Topic: forwarding address for administrative notices

wiki is showing the forwarding address for administrative notices option should be available in the email configuration page.


However it's not there in 7.5.1
The only one available is E-Mail to uknown users.

I tried editing /etc/aliases
root:      username

but it doesn't work either.
How can I get around this?

I think if you go under users, you can choose where the email for admin goes. Elsewise do some searching in the forum about admins group.

the feature exists.. simply modify the admin user from users page..

so, as charlie said, wiki should be updated

by forwarding admin through the user panel, I receive all the emails sent to that user. That means the junk mail that is being sent to abuse, bogus delivery receipts, etc.

What I really need is to receive only the administrative emails. All the emails generated "by the server".
That was my understanding of the feature in the wiki

Would one fo you open a ticket at Bugzilla under "documentation", or better still just update the Wikis?

Your understanding of the feature is wrong.
If you want to differentiate between various types of admin emails, you would need to install the mailsorting contrib and create appropriate rules.
