Have read though all the ADD EXTRA DRIVE and USB DRIVE how to's but still struglling with this.
I have a external USB caddy that will hold two Hard Drives - in this case they are Seagate 2Tb each. Caddy then has one USB cable connected to machine.
I've formated each to ext3 and labled each volume with differnt names, DISK_PETER and DISK_PAUL
They were formated as primaries and partion 1
To do this I had only one drive fitted at a time. Afterwards each drive could been seen and mounted ok.
However I can't get sme to see both drives when I plug it in, it only ever sees one of them? I can mount that device but not the second.
Can't see second device listed in /var/log/message - only first drive
For record, machine has sda1 as root drive and a sconded sdb1 (internal) drive fitted
USB drive mounts as sdc1 - was sort of expecting a sdc2 or sdd1
Guess its ovious to someone - but can't see what I've done here.!?
End game is these drives ack as networked backup drives, and I have a clone that can be swopped in/out and keep other off site.
