So a client of ours at work(I am the IT guy for an accounting firm, but got "out-sourced" as such to this client) recently had his SME-Server fail due to a dead HDD. So after much mucking around, I got him setup with a new hdd with 7.5 installed on it, and got it talking with his new(by new I mean incredibly old but new to him) Toshiba 281C multi-function(this is where all the time was consumed). Anyway, for a while it wasnt authorising with the SME-Server but eventually got past that but not before trying to set up his multi-function to use an external email host. Now, this is where the issue is. I dont have much experience with SME at all, and I am no printer technician, so I am unsure if the following issue is with the printer or SME. The issue is the admin account is continually getting "failed to send" emails from mailer-daemon@domain(where domain is the sme domain). The printer is printing this email every time it gets it(note, the printer is not set up to use the admin account, hence where my confusion comes in). So, on the one hand, the printer is printing these every 5 mins even though it is not hooked up to the admin account, yet the admin account is also getting them. Now, the reason why I THINK it might be to do with SME is the mailer-daemon bit. The error is that it cannot send to the external email addy we set it up to send to when we were trying hooking it up to an external server. So, any ideas? If this is an issue with the printer, please let me know and I shall focus on trying to find some info on it(not an easy task).
Thanks.
------UPDATE--------
And solved... sorta. The mailer-daemon keeps sending the "Could not send" email about an email it tried to send yesterday, but I managed to find where on the printer I could turn off it printing error emails and turned off its pop3 connector.
