SME Server 8.0 and different motherboard
« on: July 01, 2012, 10:02:14 PM »
Hey guys,

I have recently upgraded to SME Server version 8.0 and after 2 days my motherboard died.

It was an old mobo with an IDE controller. If i change the mobo with an another one (IDE Controller also) will the SME boot and run as it was previously ?

Thanks in advance  :-D

Hi Stefano,

I have changed the motherboard and sme server booted fine.

The problem that i am facing now is with performance. SME has become too slow, when i browse my website from the outside i can barely see it. It comes on pixels.

The other problem is with e-mail. I have one client that uses thunderbird. While he receives e-mails fine when he tries to open them he will have too wait 10 minutes to forever till the mail is open.

Actually i am facing something like this http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=29196.0

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry for the typo 50g. It seems that there was a problem with the onboard network card and the secondary nic. I removed the secondary and everything works fine.

That was strange  :-?
