One iPhone user not able to get mail

I have a single user who cannot get mail via their iPhone's 3G connection.  It works fine when connected to a WiFi connection.  Other users on the same 3G network do not have problems.  This phone has been and was working fine until 2 days ago.

The server is version 7.5.1 and has it's own dedicated Internet connection using a bridged DSL modem.

Where do I start looking?

Is the user able to login to webmail over the 3g connection (possible self-signed certificate issue)?

Can the user login to another account on the SME from the iPhone (that is, can you setup a 2nd account on the iPhone connected to your SME server) (possible email account problem on the SME)?

Are you using PPPoE in your internet connection, or is there any segment between the 3g user and your SME server with an MTU less than 1500 (see http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6888 for more details on problems with the MTU discovery protocol)?
