Hello,
I am new to this forum so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong board or this topic already exists and I did not find it prior.
We have a SME server 7.5.1 in our LAN that is providing DHCP, DNS, and information bays assigned to users. The server ran for over a year with no issues until recently it would become unavailable to our users on the network. During this time the users were able to access all other local devices and the internet. When we would ping the SME server we found that only half or less of the packets would return and the ones that did return often were in groups of 5 to 10 in a row. After a reboot, everything works fine again and 100% packets are returned.
We replaced this SME server with another machine set up the same way and are now having the same issue. Almost daily. It always seems to happen over night and when we return in the morning we are having the issue.
We have pinged the server both locally and remotely through MPLS from multiple devices all with the same result. So far we have:
DHCP - turned it off and same issue occurred. Confirmed no other DHCP in network
Switch Ports and patch cables - changed/switched out
rebooted firewall and ISP router (during issue)
removed wireless router (during issue)
All that is physically between the users desktop and SME server is a couple patch cables and switch. Again this happens for all users on all devices both on the local network and remotely through MPLS.
Has anyone experienced this or can offer suggestions for further troubleshooting?
Thanks
