So i know just one solution for you, you have to read the entire manual :p

read this : http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter13#E-mail_Delivery

for the mailling list you can write a mail to a group of your server, all members of your group will receive the mails, if you want a real mailling list like mailman you have to install it by your own, as the contrib is broken, or use this contrib which i do not know http://wiki.contribs.org/Ezmlm

Please don't use bold when you speak to somebody.
See http://wiki.contribs.org/Koozali_Foundation

!!! Please write your knowledge to the Wiki !!!

SME server by design only supports one username set.
You should VERY CAREFULLY consider the ramifications of username selection in relation to domain styled pseudonyms, before you start creating usernames (ie in a situation where multiple domains are hosted on the same SME server).
What this means is for you to think about how you will name your users, & what email address they will use
eg
the username can be of the form fred1 & the corresponding email address would be of the form fred@maindomain.com
Another user who wants the fred pseudonym would be fred2 with email address
fred@myotherdomain.com
& so on etc.

Refer
http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter9#Pseudonyms
Please read all of the above section, particularly the sections titled
Practical usage guidelines
&
Summary
&
Alternative configuration of users

For an abbreviated version of the above also see,
http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:FAQ:Section04#User_accounts
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.

I login with my domain name through eGroupware 1.8
There is a setting to include the domain for login.
The user is attributed to the login for eGw1.8
SME 8.0
Quad 6600
8gb DDR2 800
8 TB RAID 5
Dual Gigabit NIC
I Still Don't KNOW WHAT I AM DOING. Please, don't assume I know anything about Linux or Centos, I just know hardware

here we are talking about horde.. horse uses imap to connect and anthentication.. and this is done via username only

egw is not part of SME

Sorry,
Didn't know OP wanted to stay with Horde. Just offering the alternative that would get rid of his username issue. Then his users wouldn't have to learn a different username.
