I used the command on my system to find out the expiration dates of the avira license key file.
/usr/bin/avlinfo

I found the link to download a new license key file with a newer expiration date.
From this webpage,  found the below link to a new hbedy.key file

My old key expired June 30, 2013.
The newer key show expiring June 30, 2014

After a reboot, the Avira program ran with the new key, as opposed to not loading before.
