Hi,
 'm trying to customize E-Smith 4.0b6.

Where i can get named.conf Template ? At this moment i have a domain www.domainname.com registered in internet and in my local LAN (Connected Dial-up) an e-smith server.

E-smith automatically generated a named.conf and httpd.conf with www.domainname.com, so every user that uses local server (in my LAN) as a gw see local www.domainname.com. (Consider that this local server gets mails with ETRN)

P.S. I suggest to setup in installation a little question that allow to configure, or not, www.domainname.com

Hi Luca,

    The template used to create named.conf can be found in /etc/e-smith/templates/etc, though it should not be neccessary to change this.  

You can configure your hostname during the install.  To configure your hostname after install you have two options:  
- using the e-smith manager, available remotely using a webbrowswer (www.domainname.com/e-smith-manager)
- using the e-smith console, on the e-smith host computer (2. Configure this server and gateway)

The problem is that, local web have www.domainname.com and remote web (real internet domain) have www.domainname.com.

When i browse throught internet www.domainname.com viewed is my local domain.

I don't know if is it enought clear.

Aaaaah, I understand now.  There is an option in the e-smith-manager that allows you to specify an offsite web/ftp host, it is labelled 'Offsite Host'.  Simply enter the IP of the offsite host.

Will look into incorporating this option into the setup.
