Hi
Its been a while since i have been on the forum. We are looking at blocking p2p downloads at the workspace and thus i have looked into the forum and contribs support pages regarding the issues.
From this i have seen alot of comment regarding SME7 and 7.x but not anything on SME8 or 8.x.
My question is, will the p2p blocking

still function in 8 or is there a new procedure to achieve this?
Kind regards
PS: I have read through the other specific forums on this but in none yet have found any reference to SME8.

Never tried it but if You read the wiki page You can realize that the contrib needs specific kernel modules no more updated since 2012.
If you follow the links you may find some attempt of porting to 8 but they are 2 yeas old too.
Anymore it's an hard job blocking P2P/Torrent . . . maybe a device/appliance-level strategy is a better path to search.

I agree with Nicola
if you need such a feature, you should think about an appliance in front of your server/lan

Hi
Im looking at going the cisco route but wanted to see if it wasnt possible from server itself.
Looks like cisco will be the way then.
Thank you for the feedback
