I upgraded from SME server 8 using a USB backup from the server, then restore data when asked during install on SME 9 64 bit
All seemed to go well, I was able to view shares on the server across the network.
Unfortunately the 1 DOS program (a point of sale program) located on the SME server, I keep Windows 98 for locks up in 98.
A Windows 95 client workstation works however.
In addition a Windows 7 client works - the drawback is when printing from the program it takes a long time for Windows 7 to allow the printing to take place, where as with Windows 95 and windows 98 the printing is immediate, otherwise I would run the program on Windows 7, 32 bit.
I am guessing it may be an issue with networking but both 95 and 98 are able to copy files across the network. If a "point of sale ever comes along in Linux or even Windows that worked as well for us I would change, but until then ....
