mail on external IP change
« on: April 14, 2015, 02:57:41 PM »
Hi all. I used to have this working, but forgot how to do it.
I want to get an e-mail on my gmail account when the servers external IP changes (which it does about twice a year). If i have that I can change the DNS entry for the server.

I think it has to go in /etc/e-smith/events/actions/set-external-ip

Dynamic DNS is designed to do that automatically. You can set up your main domain DNS to be a CNAME record, and use Dynamic DNS to change a DynDNS specific hostname, or you can set you primary domain to be the DynDNS hostname, and have your "main" domain name be an additional domain. Either way it will "just work".
