root access via telnet

Have upgraded to 5.5, set the remote access so that root can login via telnet in the private network.
However I get 'Login Incorrect' it will connect as 'admin' fine.
Is this by design or a fault.
Cheers
Shaun

This is a design by deafult, root is now allowed to login over telnet because telnet is very insecure, try using SSH instead of telnet.
Thanks,
Nathan
