« on: November 10, 2015, 01:14:12 PM »
We have hp pro liant server. We we boot the server the ILOv 4 unknown. We had set ILO to dhcp enebled. It won't get the dhcp ip from router. We can go internet from mobiles connected to router.
But with server it connects to the internet 2or3 mins. How to isolate this problem.

I have reset router but no good results

We use HP proliant server. When i come to office today morning the users of our network have no internet. Then i checked that server cannot ping to google.com. I resterted the server. In booting process it shows me iLO 4 IP unknown. Previously this is set to 192.168.1.6.
I reset router. Ok the server got  the address again.
But after 5 minuts again no internet. ILO 4 IP  unlnown.
Every time i restart the server it is ok. But few munites later it is going wild

well, you'd read the manual of your server.. IMO, if you don't need ILO (AFAIK you need to buy a license to use it) you can safely disable it from bios

AFAIK, ILO works in a "basic" mode without license.. to enable/use some features you need an additional license..

BTW, it seems to me an HW issue, not a SME one.. you'd better call your hw supplier or ask directly to HP

Ok. Lets say we have no internet. But why cannot access server shared folders also?

Smnirosh, I don't know anything about your lan setup, I know you're running a SME server, a NS server, virtual machines.. but, again, I (we) don't know anything..

I'd suggest you to enter the bios, configure ILO to use a fixed ip, decide WHO is the dhcp server in your lan (SME server, router, whatever) and configure all accordingly..

IMO, this is no a linux/SME issue and (as you've been already told) you'd hire a consultant to setup your infrastructure
don't get me wrong but  it seems to me you're lacking some required knowledge

I'm not understanding the issue.  It appears that ILO is some sort of out-of-band system management interface, somewhat like IPMI on my SuperMicro server.  But it sounds like you're saying your internet connection isn't working.  How are those two things related?

Yes this thing is very strange. I disabled the iLO. But the problem remains unchanged.
I am currently not running any other server on office network except smb dc, dhcp , openvpn bridge and gatewayin the server. Other nethserver is not mixed with office lan. That one is our of LAN. And virtual server is running on the vmware 10 by NAT mode making sure not mixing up with office LAN.
I don't know what to refer and what to do to this issue. But as stefano said to me, i disabled iLO. OK. but i feel something strange.

so it seems you have dhcp enabled on your router.. is it so? is dhcp enabled on SME too?

that's bad and wrong.. having 2 dhcp server on the same lan will likely cause misconfiguration and strange behaviour..

choose one of them and shut down the other.. you have no reason to have 2 dhcp servers

The server has two network cards. Then the router is enabled dhcp, but to wan ip of server is static. 192.168.1.2. Then the lan ip of server is 192.168.100.100. Also static. Directly connected this ip for switch. Thus sme server is dhcp server for pcs connected to switch. No problem. Until yesterday it works fine.
