smnirosh: if your server is in server and gateway mode and you have 2 dhcp servers (SME itself and router) but in different subnets, there's no problem.. BTW, you MUST be clearer wher you answer to questions..

we don't know anything about your setup, so BEFORE asking, you'd tell us how thigs are configured..

that said, I don't know why you're having this kind of issue, but in any case ILO should have a fixed IP, and you should configure it via bios.
I guess your server has only 2 nics, so one of them is working/can work in "shared" mode, i.e. as ILO interface and like a norlam nic.. is it so? did you read the user manual?
did you search in HP's support site for info? and with google?

Let's at least clarify what's going on.  Here's what it sounds like to me (though we shouldn't need to be guessing):

Your problem is that clients to your SME server can't connect to the Internet.

Your Internet connection comes into a router (a wireless router, perhaps?), which serves DHCP to its clients.  The WAN port of your SME server (in server/gateway mode) is connected to the/a LAN port on the router.  Your ILO service either shares the WAN port, or has a separate port which is also connected to the router.  The LAN port of your SME server is connected to one or more client machines through one or more switches, and provides DHCP service to those clients.

Is this correct so far?  If so, I'm pretty confident that the ILO issue is a red herring (i.e., it is not causing the lack of Internet access), though it may have the same cause.

Here are some troubleshooting questions:
  • What are the IP address and subnet mask for the LAN side of your router?
  • From the SME server, can you ping the router?
  • From one of the SME server's clients, can you ping the router?
......

But that iLO port is covered by hp and we cannot plug any jacks in it.

- 192.168.1.0/24
  • From the SME server, can you ping the router?
- yes
  • From one of the SME server's clients, can you ping the router?
- no. (host cannot reachable) .

ILO and SME Server? Two different worlds to me (and I do host on a HP server). Simply put, do not use ILO.
