Topic: Local Network to SME-Server

Hey guys,

So when I access a host inside my SME-Manager network (with hostname and IP forwarding) everything is working great; however when I try to access from my internal network (which SME-Manager is connected to) I have no luck.

For example:

I connect to the SME Network and use the following IP
192.168.87.5:2078

When I connect to my local network and use the following IP
192.168.0.101:2087 (192.168.0.101 is the IP SME Manager is connected to)

it can not connect
I forwarded the ports from the local network router (192.168.0.1) and the SME network (192.168.87.5)

I do not understand your network arrangement & your terminology.
Please draw a picture of your network layout & devices so we can better understand what you are doing.
Attach it here if small enough or place the dwg on a photo share site & post a link here.

So I did a quick sketch of a section of my network.
Now what I can't manage to do is access my web server from either my internet or private router;
However obviously I am able to access them from the SME network

In what mode is SME Server operating?

The server is inside a sever gateway mode

So on it I have a vpn-range from xxx.xxx.xx.5-20
Then a dhcp from xxx.xxx.xx.65-200

Hey there

So I have now gotten into some more detail about a section of my network



The trouble is coming from *2 and *3 because I am unable to connect to centos
Whilst from *1 it's no problem; I have also created the port forwarding needed for *2 & *3
I have also created port forwarding from the sme server

I am trying to access the centos section by the connection 192.168.0.101 using the SME Server port forwarding feature; I am allowed to ping 192.168.0.101 however the ports are not opening

Vpshere ip is 192.168.0.100
Sme ip is 192.168.0.101

Also I'm not sure if this helps, when I try to access the server-manager from *2 & *3 I'm getting access forbidden; however I can access it from *1

How did you configure SME server ie the External Interface Configuration in the console Configure this server menu.
Did you select Static IP (to effectively create a DMZ), or something else eg one of the DHCP options or PPPoE option.

Hi janet,

So yes I used an network interface (public router) along with another (sme-sever) to create the router.
For this I used a static IP address for an network interface controller(public router) and used another to provide DHCP (sme-sever).
I have not used the PPPoE option right now.

I have created the port forwarding on my public router(connection to the internet) and inside the SME-server-manager
