p3scan error
« on: June 30, 2016, 10:27:20 AM »
I saw in the log of our sme server there is a p3scan error everyday every minute. I copied the error as followed from the server Message error list.
Jun 29 01:12:05 mech p3scan[12031]: P3Scan Version 2.1
Jun 29 01:12:05 mech p3scan[12031]: Selected scannertype: basic (Basic file invocation scanner)
Jun 29 01:12:05 mech p3scan[12031]: Listen now on 0.0.0.0:8110
Jun 29 01:12:05 mech p3scan[12031]: no scanner was defined. scanning completely disabled
Jun 29 01:12:05 mech p3scan[12031]: Scanner init failed! config and restart P3Scan
Jun 29 01:12:05 mech p3scan[12031]: Exiting now...

What do i have to do?

there's no p3scan on a stock SME server, so I'll move this topic on controbs section

BTW, you'd tell us what did you install on your server and how

Because of our main server has no space to save so many autocad files, we upgraded an old Nethsis which is from our other office, to sme server. (because Nethsis server was not able to connect through openvpn). I  installed openvpn bridge  on it Monday. then I changed the domain name and all emails were on that server is inaccessible now. This error is generating every second. i think the best way to get all the files saved in old server to NAS drive and format the server and test your sme 10 server

in this server previously installed nethsis. Our Admin who is in other office upgrade the O/S to sme server. Also it is not important the p3scan for me. I want to know if i can ignore this error or do i have to do something to run this server for few days without problem with openvpn bridge?

well, I understand that your admin upgraded nethservice to SME (which are "cousins"), IOW, he did not make a fresh install from the bare metal..

if so, you have a mess

is mech the hostname of your SME server?

Quote
I want to know if i can ignore this error

we don't know if you can/should ignore it, because we don't know what is running on your server (we don't know either if it is SME or Nethesis and no info on version ecc..)

please report here the output of:
Code: [Select]
cat /etc/e-smith-release
rpm -qa | grep p3scan

NOTE: no one here can take a look at your screen nor access to your server, so you're our eyes.. if you need help, you must help us to help you, so, please, be "verbose" and give us as much details as you can.. please be specific, because "we upgraded an old Nethsis" is too vague and prone to misunderstanding

you're working on a Nethesis product, you're on the wrong place, please ask for support elsewhere..

Oh my god. then I have to move all the files to NAS drive and make this server SME. Can I try with SME 10 for test purpose plus do my openvpn bridge installation for office purpose?

no, SME10 is in early alpha stage

IMO you need to hire someone to help you

it depends from where you are moving from.. anyway, based on your last post (and all IMHO) you have a mix of products and you don't know exactly which one to use and how to use it..
I repeat myself, please consider the option to hire someone to help you, if you're not playing with/in a test environment, you're playing with a gun
