Topic: HAL stops restore

Have backed up the 8.2 SME Server, installed new RAID1 disks, installed SME9.1 and about 10% into restoring the backup HAL interrupts with restart.
Then it won't allow login as the password has not yet been installed.

Can I disable HAL before/during the restore?

SOLVED - Different USB-Disks/Sticks and have been tested and it was observed that external USB-Drives with external Power run error free, but some USB-Sticks and USB-Disks powered by the USB port bus, can have issues (possibly low voltage/Hal-Daemon problems).

There are a number of bugs relating to USB backups and restore that are similar to this, wonder if this is related to those.

There has been some work done and suggestions for fixes etc, also waiting for action on others..

Hopefully we may see some solutions soon.
