Hi,
i've a white blank page when i restore selective files from the manager.
CIFS share.  Backup ok.
How can i repair that issue ?

well, you'd try to understand what's wrong before fix it

take a look at the logs

Next look at logs in /var/logs/httpd

Also, in messages look for anything just after your restore action

You could try setting the timeout to a higher figure and see what happens:

To check, edit /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and look for the line:

Timeout 300

Increase this value (say 3000) and restart apache:

sv t /service/httpd-e-smith

This is from an old sme8 bug..

Not a permanent change, just a test, hence increase value and restart service.

OK - go back to basics please - don't be economical with information. Proper log extracts, commands used etc etc.

Remember - we cannot see you screen or your logs etc. You have an issue and are asking for help so don't make your own assumptions about what is working or not - just post the full information as requested and let others decide for you (which is what you want)

VM or bare metal install
SME version

in any case, if you need to restore files and/or dir, try to use the dar command line (see https://wiki.contribs.org/Backup_with_dar#Manually_restoring_from_dar_archive_created_by_e-smith-backup)

If you do you maths then you'll start to see the issues

100Mb (MegaBit) network (and I assume you are running 100 and not 10) allows about 12MBs (MegaBytes) per second.

120GB *1024 = 122880 MBs

122880 / 12 = 10240 seconds / 60 = 170 minutes / 60 = 2 hrs 50 mins

Using Gigabit at say 120Mb it would be about 17 mins (around 1020 seconds)

You might start to understand where your problems lie.....

Bearing in mind my calculations I think that will be his best option. Unless he seriously ups the timeouts in httpd.

I never use  server-manager to restore my files, 'cause it's prone to errors and timeouts..
CLI is the way

In all seriousness upgrade to Gigabit ASAP and save yourself a world of pain. You can pick up decent secondhand switches for pennies these days so there is no barrier to upgrading. You may notice a small difference on your network....
