Oops, chown -R in wrong directory

Is there any way to restore correct file ownerships after using chown -R in the wrong directory?
Are any scripts available to do this?
SME Server 5.5, no physical access. (ssh only).
Any ideas gratefully appreciated.

Restore from your backup is the only one I know of.

If the directory was in an i-bay I believe /sbin/e-smith/signal-event ibay-modify your_ibay-name would restore the original ownerships.
