Multilog error - revisited

multilog: warning: unable to write to /var/log/qmail/current pausing: out of disk space

I am running version 5.1.2 as server/gateway. I started getting the error above after installing awstats. I have emptied all logs, deleted most of the mail in my 2 accounts, deleted any useless stuff I was storing on the server.

But I'm still getting the error. When I do a df -h my server still says full. I am at a loss...none of the stuff I have deleted has made a difference. It just doesn't make sense...I am the only person using this server. Not hosting any web stuff...I have mp3 jukebox installed but my mp3s are on a separate HDD. The mp3 HDD is less than half full. Both HDDs are 20 gB.

Help Please...I really miss my own mail server.

Thanks all!

Try rebooting. When you delete a file its space is not freed until the last program which has it open exits. So deleting a log file doesn't free up any space until the logging process exits.

Thank you for replying Charlie

I have rebooted a few times...and left the server off for a few days. This is so strange. I have managed to do a lot with my ME thanks to all the great how-tos. But this one really has me scratching my head.

try a -
# du -h / > diskusage.txt

and find where your Gigabytes have gone - that should give some clues
