Could someone Help me:
I have determined that one of my e-smith servers is running version 5.1.2.
Note: The only way I could confirm this was by runing the ps -ef command and
looking at this process line!
usr/bin/whiptail --clear --backtitle Mitel Networks SME Server V5.1.2 Copyright 2
The question I have is this, I am concerned about the slapper virus which is
attacking the older versions of OpenSSL, and have tried to apply just the patch
to fix this. I downloaded the rpm from the ftp link for v5.1.2
ie: openssl-0.9.6-13.i386.rpm
after running rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs *.rpm
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
mysystem hung, I then rebooted and it was totally screwed up. The web interface stopped working etc. luckily I had a tape backup and was able to recover back to
square one.
My question is this, do you have to install all the updates listed for this version
of e-smith in order for the openssl patch to work. Is that what made my system crash? That's the only thing I can think of that cause the above to occur.
This is the list of updates mentioned for version 5.1.2 obviously I skipped a few!
