Hard reset while transferring files
« on: October 12, 2002, 02:54:24 PM »
Hello,
I've got a server installed (5.1.2.) for about 6 months now.
Since a week it''s starting to hard reset it self randomly it seems, only when there is constant traffic (let's say 10kb up & down) not when there is normal inet browsing, mail checking.Reboot occurs around every 10 mins. or so, sometimes screwing up file cons.
I've replaced the power supply and motherboard batt.

Found one suspicious thing in the log :

Oct 11 15:58:34 cc21791-a kernel: IP_MASQ:reverse ICMP: failed checksum from 80.35.119.32!
Oct 11 16:00:49 cc21791-a syslogd 1.3-3: restart.
Maybe it has something to do with it ?

DId you check your network card?  I've seen a system that when browsing the 'net or just generally light network tradffic it ran fine, but for sustained large file transfers the NIC would heat up and either hang or reboot the system.

Had any thunder storms lately?
