Web server behind another firewall?
« on: October 18, 2002, 06:59:19 PM »
I would like to use e-smith to provide web services to the outside world from behind a checkpoint firewall. My checkpoint firewall is routing packets to the e-smith server, but the e-smith server does not appear to be responding. If I ping the server and watch the e-smith interface with tcpdump, I see the icmp request packets, but no replies are sent. If I use a generic linux box in place of the e-smith server (using the same IP address), I can serve up web pages with no problems. What am I missing on the e-smith side?

How is your SME setup ?? As you have a firewall in front of it,

Server only mode would be sufficiant.

If it is setup as PRIVATE Server & Gateway the http port is closed at the
external nic.
