I want to know which groupware is the best?

can any groupware can synchronize MS outlook calender and to-do list etc??

The way I do it is by a third party software called Bynari.

Bynari looks good but it works on a IMAP 4 server with ACL.

IT does not work as far as I can tell with SME 5.6beta7.  The ACL on bynari/outlook client is greyed out, i.e. it not there.  The sync works on all none nested folders except the INBOX which comes up with errors and duplicates the email in the folder.  If you do create subfolder it too comes up with errors on the sync.  

If anyone knows differient please email me, but Bynari and e-smith don't currently work together and if the beta is anything go by it not going to in 5.6.   If you want the Bynari connector features you need Redhat + with pref with Bynari server.

Please comment I would love someone to tell I am wrong.

I would be interested to know if anyone has successfully gotten Lotus Domino (Linux Version) to work on e-smith.

For $500 IBM offers a small business package for linux (http://www-3.ibm.com/software/is/mp/linux/sbs/) that includes Lotus Domino, WebSphere Application Server, and DB2. It will provide web based mail, and with a 15MB client installation, Outlook can be used as a thick client and the users would never know the difference; theoretically!

We have looked at the unbelivable cost of upgrading out NT implementation and are looking for some inexensive alternatives. I have been looking at e-smith, but the largest issue we face is the groupware capabilities, which need to be somewhat comparable to exchange and nobody wants to change from outlook as the client.

Any info would be appreciated.

Sorry guy as far as Bynari goes a a client of mine bought me a copy of the Insight server with clients. I love SME server but sometimes you gotta pay for the functionality you want.

how about adding the kronolith modules to IMP


Or you could stick with pop mail and use net folders (outlook 98/2000 only) to sync calendar data etc if its a small shop...

did you get anywhere with your Lotus Notes/Outlook ? we're looking for the same type of solution - i.e. exchange equiv backend with Outlook2K as the client.
