Hmmm, is it just me?

I'm starting to feel a bit stupid here..

I have 2 domains, domain1.org and domain2.org. I want SME to handle email for both domains. I need to have 2 users, and they MUST have the same name on both domains, ie. like this:

bill@domain1.org
bill@domain2.org

jay@domain1.org
jay@domain2.org

How do I do that? I've tried everything, but nothing seems to work.

If both "bill@" addresses are the same guy named Bill, and both "jay@"
addresses are the same guy named Jay, then that's the only way SME Server
*can* work. There are no special steps necessary.

Of course, if something's failing, it's usually easier to track down when you
describe what you tried and what you saw as an unexpected result.

What you have to remember is when you create an account on your server, it's an "account" on that server--not just an email account for a specified domain.  It's used for samba shares etc...  All email that matches that account name that is either the main domain or any virtual domains will go to that account.  In the file system where email is stored, /home/e-smith/files/users/username is where email and personal files are stored(no domain name is specified).

I think there was a workaround for this previously posted in these forums. Do a search

I found a workaround. Made it with aliases in Qmail.

Thanks.
