userpanel failure

Hi All

I've just set up a new sme 5.5 server (blade 1 installed) and one of the first tasks was to install the userpanel. I grabbed the latest rpm from the dungog.net site

- e-smith-userpanel-1.0-6.noarch.rpm

and the associated perl rpm's and installed the three rpms in sequence of perls before userpanel. The httpd-admin service failed to restart and so I tried to restart it manually and got a more detailed error.

On checking the cause of this I find in the httpd.conf there is an error relating to "a module failed to open the /etc/e-smith/web/panels/user/cgi-bin directory"

I then checked for its existence and its not there. I am guessing that the latest rpm does not create the directory and that possibly testing has been done over pre-existing installs.

I have now uninstalled the 1.0-6 and reverted to my older copies which installed without error. The cgi-bin directory now exists. I am not wanting to uninstall these now and would appreciate knowing if this is something I am missing or a problem with the latest version.

cheers
Tony

possibly recreate the user/cgi-bin with the 'userpanel access' panel
