I've tried lm_sensors-2.5.5-3.i386.rpm.
The problem is that module adm9240 does not exist, not compiled into the kernel.
From my reading of LM_Sensors how-to's from different sources, I understand, that you need recompiled kernel with support for lm_sensors, not the stock kernel 2.2.x
Its not a big deal, version 5.6 with new kernel and "built-in" support for this coming hopefuly soon a and I am planning to upgrade to it if no major problems found.

Do you know of any problems with 5.6beta plus updates which prevents you from using it now?

Shad,

Could you tell us what's new/updated in version 4.0-5 of the sysmon rpm? I'm using 4.0-3.

TIA,

Timothée

Not at the moment. I am testing it on development and staging servers. I just never put beta's or, for this matter final versions for the few months after release on the production servers. Still using versions 5.1.2 everywhere, since couldn't find compelling reasons to upgrade to 5.5. Version 5.6 will have good reason to upgrade (new kernel and better support for hardware)

My appreciations and wormiest wishes for the New Year to the e-Smith team and all the supporters of this wonderful product.,

Boris.

Hi,
Just installed Sysmon V4.0.
I used the server-manger rpm installer and it all went smoothly. I had also just upgraded apcupds to the latest version (3.8.5?).
About 5mins after installing I had a power cut! It only lasted 1min16sec (I love being able to say that with absolute accuracy!). Afterwards I looked at Sysmon and found a lovely battery discharge curve :)
I'm a happy man!
I subsequently installed lmsensors but nothing happened. Should I have installed that first? If so what should I do now?

In order to get lm_sensors working you have to install the RPM and then configure it.  There are howto's out there to walk you through it.

Once it is configured then if you type 'sensors' at a command prompt then you should get a nice little table of sensor data.

Hi

I've just install sysmon on my SME V5.5 U2 box (IBM Netfinity 3500) and it works perfect for memory, hdd ... monitoring. But the two first graph (%cpu utilisation and System load/%cpu) are empty.

Any idea ?
Thanks

benja.

Shad,

I finally managed to both find time, and get access to your rpm, sorry for the delay.

Installing sysmon 4.0 went smoothly, and it is picking up the lm_sensor information.

I'll update my lm_sensor HowTo http://www.wellsi.com/sme/lms/lm_sensors.html this weekend to include a mention of your excellent package.

Do you have a How-To for sysmon 4? I couldn't find one quickly, and I would prefer to link to some documentation rather than just the rpm directory.

Also thanks to Juan Jesus and Jaime.
