SME as Veritas Netbackup client?

Does anyone use Veritas Netbackup client software on the SME server? Any gotchas I should be aware of?

TIA

I did some tests in the past with Veritas  BackupExec.
I installed the linux client found on the cd, and was able to smoothly backup the complete system :-)

I hope this answer is enough for you ?

Thank you for your comments. Yes, it is promising. The NetBackup client is a daemon, which listens on specific ports for the backup server to initiate backups, and are then spooled over the network to the backup server.

I'm an e-smith SME-server newbie, just wondering if I have to do anything special within the SME architecture with regard to either new daemon precess(es), or opening ports for the backup server's communication.

After seeing this, I added it to our SME. You need to change the services.conf file templates, as the install program just modifies the file itself. I think I may have had to change the run-level(?) stuff. I'm not sure exactly, as it wasn't working at first, then started working. I did get a successful backup of the server though.

Do you have any clues for configuring the client to display (in Backup Exec in the Windows box) ALL of the SME server rather than just the iBays? All I'm getting displayed are iBays and Primary.
