Topic: e-Smith beta 4.03 issue

I'm trying to install beta 3 release with the followin problem:

Installation Ok, Autodetect NIC  Ok, Macronix MX98715 tulip... OK..

BUT

When everything looks Ok then reebot the server (first time) everithing Ok, OK, OK, blah blah blah, when it reaches Network section: I got a lot of info and the server stops loading.

I'm using a NIC macronix mx98715 tulip Cnet PCI

It works perfectly on e-smith version 3.1, also tried a new NIC same problem, same problem with beta 2 and beta 3.

Any ideas?

Your problem is either a hardware problem (RAM, motherboard), or a kernel bug or compiler bug. When you say a new NIC, was it of a different type?

The only thing I can suggest other than changing hardware is to upgrade the kernel to the 2.2.14-12 kernel from a RedHat mirror site. you'll need to follow the instructions on upgrading a kernel RPM from the RedHat web site.
