Topic: Cannot log into Webmail after upgrade

I upgraded from 5.5 to 5.6 and it is working great except that I cannot log into webmail with any of my accounts.  I reset all passwords via server-manager and they all took ok, but I still cannot log into my email accounts.  I can however loginto my accounts through outlook???  Can someone shed some light on this issue?  Thanks!

hmm only thing I am aware of is that position of stored mail folders was changed as part of the update of the e-mail server. Maybe your copy of webmail is looking in the wrong place?

Now I can retrieve my mail ok in Outlook Express, but when I go to send mail, I am being prompted for my username and password which are not working, so I cannot send mail via outlook either.  The account login is working via outlook to retrieve mail, but not to send???  That makes no sense, and via webmail I cannot login period!  Please help.  I feel a re-image coming on!  Crap!!!!

I experienced the exact same issue after an "upgrade" from 5.5 to 5.6

That is, no logins to webmail were allowed despite the same logins working fine via the traditional email access.

The only way I could resolve it was a full backup, and then clean install.

Look into the error logs, they revealed something in my .php cnfiguration even though it was stock standard. I fiddled for a few days and said screw it.

Clean build are always better, though a pain.

Hi guys,

I experienced a similar problem login problem today after upgrading IMP webmail to 3.2.1 (Dan Brown's how-to) from 3.0 on my SME 5.5u6 server.  IMP webmail was working fine until the 3.2.1 upgrade.

Any ideas how I can resolve the issue so that webmail logins work?  Or do I have to reinstall IMP 3.0?  If so - what's the downgrade/reinstall process on a 5.5 server?

Any insight on how to fix this?  Btw I am still able to retreive mail via pop3.
