Why when I login via SSH can I not run a ./install.sh file ?
It mention's something about permissions?

More important...I have setup the server to collect email via POP3, which the ISP refers to as Catchall. I have set SME to Multidrop and set the username and password etc. However no mail arrives? Where is the logfile that shows the POP connections? I have had a quick look in the FAQ's but the wife is nagging as she is expecting some mail !! Did a search through the forums also, and no one mentioned this type of error. The server is in Gateway mode, connected to an ADSL router, web browsing and outgoing mail work fine.

Regards Paul.

I'd check the permissions on the file. I run script files all the time via SSH.

Do you actually have multidrop mail through your ISP? Have you checked the "admin" mailbox? I believe that's where mail goes when it can't figure out where else to send it.

Thank you, did not think of that one..

Checked the admin account, nothing there, also logged on to the ISP's webmail and there is a stack of mail. To the best of my knowledge Multidrop & Catchall are the same thing? anything @ourdomain.com gets dumped into a single postmaster mailbox at our ISP. Is there no log created that could tell me what was going on with the pop retrival.

Well, if they're still at the ISP and not on your server, then it's probably not actually checking for the mail at all. We use the SME as our mail server, so I don't know where you'd look for that stuff in the logs. What logfiles have you checked already?

http://www.e-smith.org/docs/manual/5.0/ispservices.html has a section on multidrop mail...

Well a reboot of the offending server at home sorted the problem.

Thinks, this must be SME day today....
