5.6 mysql changes

What's changed that makes in impossible to run server-manager? I keep getting an authentication error. I can log in on the server using the same password, and give local network access to the server-manager, but it will not authenticate. I can only imagine that the problem is with mysql, as all my other mysql utilities are broken as well.

I can pretty well guarantee that it has nothing to do with mysql, as mysql has nothing to do with the server-manager.  Are you on the same LAN as the server?  Are you using "admin" as the username?

I am on the same LAN. Private IP. Everything was fine until I installed 5.6, which really makes me thing something was done in 5.6 that set the stage for problems with mysql. I have downloaded the RedHat library as well, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

Oh yeah, at the same time, I started getting the following error:

Cron run-parts /etc/cron.daily
/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:

AND, when booting , I get an error having something to do with "create horde sql" or something similar that zooms by then booting the server.

Dear Looney Tunes

Have a look in your logs, I think /var/log/messages for the actual message you get at boot up. Look for the time you did the lsst reboot.

Ray,

The two messages that show up in the log are:

Feb 17 20:39:13 Athelon mysql: ERROR 1061 at line 74: Duplicate key name 'category_category_name_idx'
Feb 17 20:39:13 Athelon mysql.init: Loading 30mysql.create.horde.sql into mysql failed

to fix the mysql problems install the

glibc-2.2.5-43.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.2.5-43.i386.rpm

from www.rpmfind.com
because the 5.6 update 2 kills mysql
but i don't know about the server manager i havent experienced that problem yet.
