Can send using pop3
« on: February 19, 2003, 06:24:55 AM »
Hi,

I have installed the SME 5.5 version. I have already configured the email settings for public access but I am having problems sending thru the SMTP server. The downloading via pop3 is fine and so is the webmail.

The message is as follows.

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'sgkerk@pa.com.sg'. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop3.answer.com.sg', Server: 'mail.answer.com.sg', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79.

The SMTP server is not relaying.

Hope somebody can help me answer that.

Thanks
Kerk

Hi ,

I tried your steps in setting the pop -before-smtp instructions. After I typed the ./install.sh .

It says " The smtpd_check_rules file does not exist. This is a critical component. Installation aborted. Pop-before-smtp will not function on E-smith 5.5 or above."

Anymore recommendations?

I still would like to solve the SME pop3  mail server issue on why it dows not relay.

Would upgrading to 5.6  solve this issue ?

Thanks

Yeah, if you read the description it doesn't support 5.5 or above because it uses mail-front.  However, at the top of the page in the news section there is a link to CVM SASL for SME 5.5+
