Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I haven't enabled WINS on the Windows server and I am uncertain as to whether this is created by default.

What I did do on the XP machine was at the command line, type:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

This reset all my network settings and these needed to be reconfigured. However, it did mean that I could now connect to the computers using their computer name?
