Topic: SMTP daemon not active

Hi, my SMTP Daemon seem inactive, no way to start it..
When i write an Email from webmail, it sent;.. but if i use my E Smith as a SMTP server from my office, it doesnt work....
It answer me that it can't find the other DNS....

some body have a sollution (I tryed le Service manager to active it, but no way !!!)

Hi,

What happens when you try to telnet to the server on port 25?  When you talk about your office, are the office machines on the lan?  If so, does the dns configuration in the TCP/ip properties of the computers point to the E-smith server?  When you get the error message, is this in the form of a bounced email?  We need slightly more detail.

Hi,

  I'm having the exact same probleme here... Everything was find, then one day it stopped... I also had HTTPD down and the httpd.conf file was damaged.

  HTTPD was cured by rebuilding httpd.conf from the template, but my SMTP is still dead...

  I can not telnet to my SME bos on port 25.

  Any ideas?
