Hi there,

Anyone interested to get your sme ver 5.6 boxes run as a primary public dns to serve all yours domainname? Adding and editing using the server-manager.

just a note here.... i been successfully run a primary dns using sme ver 5.6 installed as "server and gateway" only.

I'm thinking to put up a how-to for it.........

Hi,

I would certainly be interested in this, I am running Windows Simple DNS plus behind the firewall with port forwarding on the dns ports, but would like to stop all the Windows servers altogether as it is very convenient having all the servers on an unused box!

This is my first time trying to contribute back after using e-smith since 4.x version and had done many hack on it (each version), but b4 i can contrib someones already did it.

Right you are.
Been there, done that.
Now I need to adjust my zonefile to reflect my secondary DNS, which is hosted by 'gratisdns.dk', with 5 nameservers, in order to keep my own NS hidden (since it's not registered with the DK-hostmaster authority).
How do I do that ?
Gratisdns are at the moment the primary authority for my domain.

Please advise, someone.
